Plan to join the Lifers of APA at their activities planned for the annual meeting in San Francisco. Membership is open to all APA life members and life fellows.

The Lifers will hold their annual Business Meeting/Forum on Monday, May 19, from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. The program will consist of the business meeting and presentations by former APA president John McIntyre, M.D., on the Lifers in relation to APA and Carl C. Bell, M.D., on evidence-based practice.

The group’s annual reception will be held on Tuesday, May 20, beginning at 7 p.m. The Harold Berson, M.D., Award will be presented, and there will be a drawing for the $100 door prize. This presents a great opportunity to meet and greet friends and colleagues.

The next day at 11 a.m., the Lifers and APA’s Task Force on Senior Psychiatrists will sponsor the component workshop “Retirement Issues for Psychiatrists and Their Spouses.”

Additional information will be mailed to all Lifers in March. More information is also available by contacting Barbara Matos, staff liaison, by phone at (703) 907-8517 or by e-mail at .
