APA past president Daniel Borenstein, M.D. (right), meets with Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) in Waxman's home district, where Borenstein resides. Waxman is a key member of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health and a long-time ally of APA. The visit is part of an ongoing program at APA—through its political action committee, APAPAC—in which APA members educate federal and state legislators and policymakers about mental health issues.
