Don't Miss APA Practice Guidelines, Watches, and Drafts
APA practice guidelines provide evidence-based treatment recommendations. Two guidelines are now in press for publication as supplements to the American Journal of Psychiatry. The guideline on obsessive-compulsive disorder will be published in the June issue, while the revised guideline on Alzheimer's disease and other dementias will be published in July.
Guideline watches describe evidence that is new since the publication of a guideline. A new watch for the guideline on substance use disorders (second edition) will be published in the spring issue of the APA journal Focus and posted online at<www.psych.org/psych_pract/treatg/pg/prac_guide.cfm>.
Guideline drafts are made available for review in the Members Corner of APA's Web site at<www.psych.org>. Two drafts will be posted there shortly: one on panic disorder and the other on HIV/AIDS; both are second editions.
