Vote Online in 2008 Election
As the holiday season approaches, so does APA's 2008 election. Your Elections Committee reminds you to take the time to get to know this year's candidates and to vote.
If you have an e-mail address on file with APA, an e-mail containing online voting information arrived in your inbox on December 22. Paper ballots were mailed that same day. Even if you don't have an e-mail address on file with APA, you can still vote online once you receive your paper ballot. The deadline to cast your ballot is February 5, 2008.
The Elections Committee strongly urges you to consider the candidates and vote online, but whichever mode you choose, the most important thing to do is to vote.
Here are six reasons why the Elections Committee supports online voting:
•. | 6. It decreases paper usage.
•. | 5. It is cost-effective for your Association.
•. | 4. It is a highly reliable system for casting votes.
•. | 3. It is the timeliest method for voting.
•. | 2. It is completely private.
•. | 1. You won't need to hunt around your desk looking for your mailed ballot! |
Information on the candidates appears in the December 7, 2007, issue of Psychiatric News and online at<http://pn.psychiatryonline.org/content/vol42/issue23/>. More information is available by contacting Chanda Brooks at (703) 907-8527 or [email protected].
