Learn More About Integrated Care Through Special Track

APA President John Oldham, M.D.’s theme is “Integrated Care,” and this year’s annual meeting promises to cap off an exciting year by showcasing the experts and innovations in this rapidly developing field. Described as models of collaboration with primary care to improve outcomes, integrated care runs along a continuum that includes assisting primary care providers in bringing effective mental health services into primary care settings and partnering with primary care colleagues to bring much-needed primary care services to individuals with mental illnesses. The outcome of this partnership is to “improve lives and lifespans,” as Steven Sharfstein, M.D., CEO of the Sheppard Pratt Health System, recently stated in an editorial in the American Journal of Psychiatry.

The lineup for the track is impressive, with experts filling the scientific program with more than 20 presentations to inform and educate members interested in this rapidly developing subspecialty area. Please see the final program for dates, times, and locations. For additional information or a final copy of the Integrated Care Track, contact Lori Raney, M.D., chair of the APA Work Group on Integrated Care, at [email protected].
