As part of its suicide prevention focus, the Substance Abuse and Mental
Health Services Administration, in conjunction with the National Suicide
Prevention Lifeline (a project of the Mental Health Association of New York
City), has produced a free toolkit for crisis centers and other mental health
programs that want to increase their efforts in this area.
The toolkit includes press releases that programs can customize, materials
to educate local media about suicide prevention programs and resources, and
suggestions on how to build partnerships with others interested in suicide
prevention.
