Marshall Forstein, M.D., is the recipient of the Cambridge Health
Alliance's (CHA) second annual Art of Healing Award. The award recognizes an
individual for exemplary leadership, advocacy, and innovation in healing.
The CHA is a public health care system with three hospital campuses and a
network of community-based health centers in the Boston area.
Forstein is director of the CHA's adult psychiatry residency training
program, former director of its HIV Mental Health Services, and an associate
professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.
Forstein was recognized for his ground-breaking work in the mental health
aspects of HIV/AIDS; his significant impact as a teacher and trainer of mental
health providers, primary care providers, and residents both nationally and
internationally; and his leadership on numerous major national, regional, and
institution-based committees relating to HIV and/or mental health. ▪
