APA’s 2012 annual meeting represents the final opportunity for psychiatrists to hear from nearly all of DSM-5’s leading developers prior to the manual’s publication in May 2013.

Finalization of DSM-5 will take place later this fall, making the annual meeting the last time that members of the DSM-5 Task Force will collectively provide, in person, the latest updates on proposed revisions, responses to audience questions and comments about draft changes, and a general glimpse into the future of the mental health field. Among the five sessions comprising this year’s DSM-5 Track is a three-part symposia series from each of the chairs of the 13 DSM-5 work groups.

The DSM-5 Track will be opened by the DSM-5 research forum, taking place on Saturday morning, May 5, and will be followed that afternoon by a presentation of findings from the landmark DSM-5 Field Trials. Other sessions that are focused on presenting diagnosis-specific proposals for change will take place Sunday and Monday, May 6 and 7.
