Looking for Help on Understanding MACRA Payment Reforms?

Published Online:https://doi.org/10.1176/appi.pn.2016.11b51

The Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA) changes the way psychiatrists and other physicians working with Medicare patients will be paid. Some of these changes begin as early as January 1, 2017. To help you understand the new regulations and decide what actions are best for you, APA has created a number of educational resources, including a primer on MACRA, a toolkit, and easy-to-understand fact sheets, all accessible at www.psychiatry.org/PaymentReform. In addition, APA launched a webinar series on November 16; the schedule and registration information are also posted on the “Payment Reform” page, and the webinars will be archived in the APA Learning Center. Look for more information on these and other resources as they are added in future issues of Psychiatric News. ■
