At their meeting last month during APA’s 2016 Annual Meeting in Atlanta in May, members of the APA Assembly chose Theresa Miskimen, M.D., of Piscataway, N.J., as the group’s new speaker-elect. Miskimen just completed a one-year term as the Assembly’s recorder. She outpolled John de Figueiredo, M.D., the Assembly representative for the Connecticut Psychiatric Society. Robert Batterson, M.D. (left), of Kansas City, Mo., was elected recorder. He ran against David Scasta, M.D., of Princeton, N.J.

The new officers began their terms at the close of the Annual Meeting, at which time Daniel Anzia, M.D., became the speaker of the Assembly.
