Board Member Honored for Becoming Lifetime APA Member
Abstract
Area 4 Trustee Cheryl D. Wills, M.D. (second from left), is presented with a plaque at the Board of Trustees meeting in December 2018 for becoming a lifetime member of APA by paying her dues through APA’s Lump-Sum Dues Payment Program. With her are (from left) APA President-elect Bruce Schwartz, M.D., APA Medical Director and CEO Saul Levin, M.D., M.P.A., and APA President Altha Stewart, M.D.
The Lump-Sum Dues Payment Program allows members to make a one-time payment for lifetime membership without having to ever make another national APA dues payment. (Participants in the program are still responsible for district branch/state association dues.) U.S. members can deduct a portion of their payment as a business expense on tax returns.
Participants have the option to pay in two installments; the first installment must be at least 50 percent of the total lump sum amount, and the second payment must be received within 15 months of the first payment. A 10 percent financing fee will be assessed on the second payment.
Information about the Lump-Sum Dues Payment Program, including lump-sum dues amounts for each age category and for U.S., Canadian, and International members is posted on APA’s website. ■
