Adopt-a-Book Program Supports Historic Preservation

History buff? Book lover? You can help preserve the history of APA and the profession by participating in the American Psychiatric Association Foundation Adopt-a-Book Program. The program supports the collection and conservation of books, historical publications, and other materials in the Foundation’s Melvin Sabshin, M.D., Library and Archives. The library includes a leaf from the Gutenberg Bible dating back to 1450, an extensive 16th- to 18th-century collection on witchcraft, and rare books about institutional and patient care. ■

Information about the program can be accessed here.
