2019 M/UR Elections: How to Participate
Two of APA’s seven minority and underrepresented caucuses are holding elections for various offices this year: the Caucus of Black Psychiatrists and the Caucus of IMG Psychiatrists. To be eligible to vote in caucus elections, APA members must join their desired caucus(es) and then select a caucus in which to vote or update their caucus voting preference in their member profile on APA’s website by May 1.
APA’s minority and underrepresented (M/UR) caucuses provide networking opportunities, advance treatment of minority patient populations, advocate for minority mental health issues, provide representation in APA governance, and foster communication among members who share interests. For more information on the caucuses and the leadership positions that will be open for election, go to www.psychiatry.org/MURelections or email [email protected]. ■
