Help Improve Access to MH Care Through Webinar Series

Published Online:https://doi.org/10.1176/appi.pn.2020.10b30

The AMA, APA, and other leading medical associations have established the Behavioral Health Integration (BHI) Collaborative, a group dedicated to catalyzing effective and sustainable integration of behavioral and mental health care into physician practices. The integration of mental health and primary care has been identified as one of the more effective ways to increase access to mental health treatment. Given the increased urgency due to COVID-19, now is the time to accelerate the dissemination and implementation of the experience and key lessons learned by practice innovators so that BHI is successfully adopted and sustainable on a long-term basis.

APA members are encouraged to participate in these webinars, and they will be archived for on-demand access. These are the topics:

  • The Value of Collaboration and Shared Culture in Behavioral Health Integration

  • Behavioral Health Billing & Coding 101 How to Get Paid

  • Keys to Success: Implementation Strategies for Virtual Behavioral Health Integration

  • Strategies on How to Assess the Financial Impact of Implementing BHI

  • How Physicians Can Lead the Charge in Dismantling the Stigma Barrier Around Behavioral Health Diagnoses and Treatment
