2001 PRISM Winners
The National Institute on Drug Abuse, the Entertainment Industries Council Inc., and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation sponsored the Fifth Annual PRISM Awards ceremony on April 4 in Los Angeles. The awards honor those in the entertainment industry who present accurate depictions of substance or alcohol abuse and addiction. Here are this year’s winners:

• “Days of Our Lives” for “Fetal Alcohol Syndrome”: TV Daytime Drama Series Episode or Storyline
• “ER” for its “Carter’s Addiction” storyline: TV Drama Series Continuing Storyline
• “In a Heart Beat” for “Friends Don’t Let Friends” by Alliance Atlantic Television Productions and the Disney Channel: TV Children’s Live Action Series Episode or Special
• “The Powerpuff Girls” for its “Mojo Jonesin’” episode: TV Children’s Animated Series Episode or Special
• “Dick van Dyke: Put on a Happy Face”: TV Biographical Reality Series Episode or Special
