Brochure Answers Menopause Questions
As women in the baby-boom generation approach middle age—nearly 2 million will turn 50 this year—many have questions about menopause.
The National Institute on Aging will answer their questions in a new, 32-page brochure titled “Menopause—One Woman’s Story: A Resource for Making Healthy Choices.” The brochure provides information about what to expect with the onset of menopause, how best to handle the symptoms, and what to do to maintain good health in the decades after menopause.
The brochure, reviewed by a group of 17 physicians and scientists, includes a glossary and a list of resources for more information about menopause.
A single copy or bulk orders up to 100 copies of the brochure are available at no cost by contacting the National Institute on Aging Information Center by phone at (800) 222-2225 or by mail at P.O. Box 8057, Gaithersburg, Md. 20898-8057. The brochure is also available on the Web at www.nih.gov/nia/health/pubs/menopause/menopause/pdf. ▪
