Annual Meeting Events for Psychiatry Residents, Fellows
APA has planned a full schedule of events for psychiatry residents and fellows so they can meet and socialize with one another, ask questions and share information, and learn more about their chosen profession. A number of events also help residents meet leaders in psychiatry and become more involved in APA.

Monday, May 20
7 a.m.-8:30 a.m.
"Meet the Experts: Sunny-Side Up" Breakfast
In this session, nationally recognized experts meet informally, over breakfast, in small groups with residents to discuss career issues and opportunities in psychiatry. This year’s topics include addiction and substance abuse, administrative psychiatry, child/adolescent psychiatry, consultation-liaison psychiatry, cultural competency, emergency and disaster psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, ethics, psychodynamic psychotherapy, professional development, public and community psychiatry, and research.

Discussion group: "Surviving Residency: Perspectives From the Training Office”
11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Component workshop: "The Good-Enough Mentor: Perspective on Mentoring in Psychiatric Training," sponsored by the APA/GlaxoSmithKline Fellows
