Published Online:https://doi.org/10.1176/pn.38.2.0009b

The following is an update of the recent developments involving the APA-endorsed Psychiatrists’ Professional Liability Insurance Program since the last report in the January 3 issue of Psychiatric News. At the end of November 2002 the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court wrapped up its hearings on whether to place Legion Insurance Company in liquidation and gave the parties the opportunity to submit additional written filings by December 30. The court extended the final document filing date to January 8 and extended the hold order on certain Legion payments (including settlements, judgments, and expenses incurred prior to April 1, 2002) to January 31.
