Teacher Honored
J. Frank James, M.D., a professor of psychiatry at East Carolina University, has been named a recipient of an Excellence in Teaching Award from the Board of Governors of the University of North Carolina.
One faculty member from each of the university system's 16 campuses is chosen each year for the award, which comes with a bronze medallion and $7,500 cash prize.
This is not the first time James has been recognized for his contributions to educating future physicians—in 1996 APA gave him a Roeske Award for Excellence in Medical Student Education. ▪
