APA members seeking to enlarge their understanding of caring for minority patients with mental illness should plan on attending the workshop “The Multicultural Dimensions of Depression: A Clinical Approach” at APA's 2005 annual meeting.

The workshop will be presented by some of APA's minority fellows, who will explore issues about depression and obstacles to seeking treatment in African-American, Chinese-American, Latino, Native-American/Alaskan, and Southwest Asian communities in the United States.

The workshop will be held Monday, May 23, at 11 a.m. in the Omni Hotel in the Spruce Room, located on the Atrium Terrace Level in the South Tower.▪
