Medicare Part B Billing

Published Online:https://doi.org/10.1176/pn.41.10.0058

The higher 2005 billing rates for Medicare Part B can be used in 2006, according to Ellen Jaffe, the Medicare specialist in APA's Office of Healthcare Systems and Financing. Carriers must reprocess any claims that were filed and paid at the lower rates that were in effect at the start of 2006 before the final budget bill was passed in February. Carriers will issue lump-sum payments for the entire amount due for the affected claims.
