Nominations Invited for Minority Medical Student Scholarships and Awards
APA invites ethnic minority medical students who have an interest in psychiatric issues to apply for the 2008 minority medical student scholarships and awards:
Travel Scholarships for Minority Medical Students These scholarships support travel and related costs for approximately 10 minority medical students interested in psychiatry to attend either the APA annual meeting in May or the Institute on Psychiatric Services (IPS) in October. This program is a way for medical students to witness organized psychiatry at work and to learn more about the field. Not only will students attend sessions for experts and trainees alike, they will be assigned to a mentor who will help them maximize their annual meeting or IPS experience and discuss career plans and resident training programs. The deadline to apply for the annual meeting scholarship is January 26, 2008. The IPS meeting application deadline is June 30, 2008. | |||||
