Judith L. Rapoport, M.D., chief of the Child Psychiatry Branch at the National Institute of Mental Health, is this year's recipient of the Mind of America Scientific Research Award from the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). She was cited for her outstanding lifetime contribution to the study of mental illness in children and adolescents.

Each year the $50,000 prize is given to an outstanding researcher who has contributed to the study of serious mental illness.

NAMI President and psychiatrist Anand Pandya, M.D., presented the award to Rapoport during a ceremony at NAMI's annual gala in October in Washington, D.C. ▪
