Nominations Sought for RRC in Psychiatry
APA invites nominations for appointment to the Residency Review Committee (RRC) for Psychiatry for a term beginning July 1, 2011. The term of service is three years, renewable once.
Among the requirements for appointment are that candidates must be APA members in good standing and board certified, have experience with residency training and administration, and be nationally well-known and well-respected educators in psychiatry. They must be a present or past psychiatry residency training director or otherwise be intimately familiar with the Essentials and the Special Requirements for Psychiatry, as well as have hands-on experience with the administration of a psychiatry residency training program. Also, candidates must participate in major specialty societies or have current or past associations with graduate medical education.
Candidates must commit to attending all RRC meetings, including the fall meeting prior to their appointment date and a workshop for specialist site visitors, and be available as a specialty site visitor.
Nominations must include a nomination letter or letters (addressed to APA President-elect Carol Bernstein, M.D.) and the nominee's curriculum vitae.
