APA's Election Cycle Shortened

Beginning with the 2012 election, APA's election cycle will be shorter than in past years: the cycle will start in November, rather than September, and end in January, rather than February. The Elections Committee urges members to vote online, but members who do not have a valid e-mail address on file with APA will receive a paper ballot.

  • Deadline for member petitions for referenda: October 15

  • Slate of candidates announced: November 1

  • Deadline for petition candidates: November 15

  • Online voting begins; paper ballots mailed first class: January 3

  • Deadline for ballot requests: January 24

  • Deadline for online voting and receipt of paper ballots: January 31 at 5 p.m. (ET)
